Immersion Immersion is a common way to help boost learning of all kinds, although it seems to work particularly well for languages, placing the student in a context, outside the classroom, where instead they fit into an environment where the language studied is spoken. Taking a vacation does not count at all, but traveling to the UK, say, for an internship or a short course is ideal, giving you the opportunity to listen and learn in practice, being surrounded day by day of the language in its natural context (not from the classroom). Distributed practice Distributed practice, a new term for something that has been done for a long time, is essentially doing 'little and often' learning.
