Immersion Immersion is a common way to help boost learning of all kinds, although it seems to work particularly well for languages, placing the student in a context, outside the classroom, where instead they fit into an environment where the language studied is spoken. Taking a vacation does not count at all, but traveling to the UK, say, for an internship or a short course is ideal, giving you the opportunity to listen and learn in practice, being surrounded day by day of the language in its natural context (not from the classroom).
